During patrolling, after seeing the dead body on the road, the police put up barriers, lit torches and stopped the vehicles and sent the body for post-mortem. There was dense fog in the district on Saturday night. Policemen patrolling on the Delhi-Saharanpur highway saw the crushed body of a 60-year-old man near Kishanpur village at around 2 am. He informed Ramala police station.

Station in-charge Jitendra Singh reached the spot with the police team. Due to very low visibility in the fog, vehicles were not visible on the highway. The police had to struggle to lift the dead body of the old man from the highway. Five policemen stopped the vehicles by lighting torches and placing temporary barriers. After that, after investigation, the police took the dead body of the old man into custody.

On Sunday morning, the body was identified by his relatives as Sukhpal resident of village Kishanpur. His son Kamal told that the distance of the incident site on the highway is 300 meters from his house. The father had gone out for a walk after having dinner at 9.30 pm, but he did not return after that. They thought that the father must have returned and slept in the circle. That's why he didn't investigate.

It is believed that while passing through the highway, an unknown vehicle crushed them. Elderly Sukhpal has three sons, Kamal, Ravi and Sonu. The incident has created chaos in the family.
