Jagran correspondent, Sambhal. The Ganga Expressway built for Meerut to Prayagraj has also passed the trials. When the toll booths installed here were tested, the vehicles fitted with Fastag passed immediately without any problem. It is expected that vehicles will run on the expressway soon. Just waiting for the government orders.
The approximately 594 km long Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj has been built in joint collaboration between Adani Enterprises and IRB Infrastructure. In Sambhal district, its approximately 60 km long stretch extends from Isapur to Sunwari village of Bahjoi area. Where the construction work has been completely completed.
The work of finishing, plantation, lighting and beautification etc. was completed in the month of December. A large way side amenity area is being developed near Khirni Moinuddinpur, in which petrol pumps, medical centres, fire stations and rest stops for passengers will be available in a single complex. The work of Lahravan Interchanging has been completed.
Both major interchanges of the expressway – Lahrawan and Khirni will provide direct connectivity to Moinuddinpur-Agra Moradabad National Highway and Delhi NCR. The land acquisition process started in the year 2019 which was completed in 2021 and construction work started in April 2022. Blacktopping on the main track, repair of service road, installation of equipment at toll plaza and plantation have been done.
UPEDA Executive Engineer Rakesh Kumar Moga said the work has been completed in Sambhal district. On December 31, a trial was conducted at the toll booth in Atela, Meerut. Where several vehicles were taken out and sensors etc. were checked. All the vehicles fitted with Fastag have left immediately. There has been no problem of any kind. Now just waiting for the government's order. It will be done as soon as the order to start is received. We are fully prepared.
