State Bureau, Lucknow. Vision-2047 being prepared by the Fisheries Department will be prepared with the aim of making the state a leader in the country in the field of fisheries development.
At the conclusion of the two-day Fisheries Development and Investment Summit organized to discuss the vision, Fisheries Minister Sanjay Nishad said that this event will help in preparing a concrete roadmap of UP-2047 developed for strategic interventions, policy cooperation and investment opportunities for rapid growth, productivity increase and value addition in the field of fisheries development.
Speaking at a program organized at the National Bureau of Fisheries Genetic Resources, he said that the suggestions given by scientists, officials and investors will be included in the vision document.
Principal Secretary Fisheries Development Mukesh Meshram said that there is a need to make a detailed strategy and action plan for the utilization of fisheries. The availability of good fish species and brooders will have to be increased.
The program was participated by 200 people including scientists, officers and investors from universities and institutions related to fisheries science.
During this, Chairman UP Fisheries Development Corporation Ramakant Nishad, Chairman UP Fisheries GV Cooperative Union Veeru Sahni, Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister KV Raju, Principal Secretary Fisheries Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Director General Fisheries Dhanalakshmi K., NBFGR Director Kajal Chakraborty, Director Fisheries NS Rahmani etc. were present.
