Jagran correspondent, Bahraich. Between the last night of the passing year and the first morning of the new year, warmth will be tested by cold. According to the Meteorological Department, due to dense fog and drop in day temperature, the chill will increase along with cold. In view of the increasing cold, all the schools of class eight have been closed till January 10.

There was less fog in the district since Tuesday morning, but the blowing westerly wind kept giving a feeling of chill along with cold. The sun came out for half an hour in the afternoon, but it was of no effect. As soon as the sun came up, attendants were seen sunbathing in the Medical College Hospital. After four o'clock in the evening, the weather changed again and the icy wind along with the cloudy sky made people shiver.

Atul Kumar Singh, senior meteorologist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, said that on Tuesday the maximum temperature was recorded at 17.2 degrees and the minimum temperature was 10.6 degrees Celsius. The day temperature was 3.2 degrees Celsius below normal. He said that there is a possibility of more cold with dense fog in the new year.

BSA Ashish Kumar Singh said that in view of the increasing cold, on the instructions of DM Akshay Tripathi, holiday has been declared in all the board schools of class eight from December 30 to January 10.
