Water From Many Colonies Of Ghaziabad 'failed' In Lab Test, Investigation Took 320 Samples From 32 Places

Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. After the deaths due to contaminated water in Indore, out of 320 samples of water taken in a day by the Health Department to supply pure drinking water to the people and prevent water-borne diseases, 30 have failed in the test.

Its partial investigation report has been released on Saturday. District Surveillance Officer RK Gupta confirmed this and said that the detailed investigation report of the water samples taken will be released on Monday. Only in this will the area wise contaminated water be known.

On January 7, the department had collected 320 water samples from 32 places in the district and sent them for testing regarding contaminated water. Apart from the water supplied by the Municipal Corporation, submersible water samples were also collected.

This campaign was launched to test the quality of water. Under this, water samples were also collected from schools, societies, hospitals, public places, RO plants and hotels.

Water samples were taken from these areas

Ardash Nagar, Bhopura, Bhupendrapuri, Brij Vihar, Daulatpura, Ghookna, Harsaan, Kaila Bhatta, Kanavani, Karkar Model, Khairati Nagar, Khoda Village, Court Village, Krishna Nagar Bagu, Maharajpur II, Makanpur Village, Mirzapur, Mustafabad Loni, Panchsheel Colony, Rajiv Garden Loni, Rajnagar, Saddiq Nagar, Santosh Vihar Loni, Saraswati. Colony, Shalimar Garden, Shastri Nagar, Shivpuri, Vasundhara, Vijay Nagar-I, Vijay Nagar-II, Shipra Suncity and Ghookna Mor.

32 teams from 32 places collected 320 water samples and sent them to the lab for testing. Their partial investigation report has arrived. 30 samples have been found failed in this. A separate report is being prepared as to which area's water has been found contaminated. On the basis of the investigation report, a letter will be written to the municipal body and authority regarding supply of clean drinking water in the concerned areas.- Dr. RK Gupta, District Surveillance Officer
