Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. Kanpur Weather Update: In the month of February, only two out of 11 disturbances could prove effective. Due to which there was light rain. Due to the weakening of the remaining disturbances, the heat has started showing its effect. Along with the day, the temperature of the night has started rising.
The maximum temperature reached 30 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. It has been claimed to be the hottest day of the season. Due to rising mercury during day and night, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the maximum temperature will reach 32 degrees by February 28. There is a possibility of sweating on Holi festival due to increase in the heat of Sun due to disturbance being active till March 2.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 12.8 degrees Celsius at the Meteorological Center of CSA Agricultural University. The maximum percentage of moisture in the atmosphere was 91 and the minimum percentage was 33. During the day, the wind continued to blow from the northwest direction at a speed of 4.9 km per hour.
Senior meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that usually the average maximum temperature of Kanpur at the end of February was around 28 degrees Celsius, but in recent years it has crossed 30 degrees Celsius. In the year 2025, at the end of February the temperature reached 31 to 32 degrees Celsius.
In the last 10 years, 2021, 2023, and 2025 have been the major years when the temperature crossed 30 degrees Celsius around February 28. This time too, there are strong chances of the mercury reaching around 32 to 33 at the end of February.
