Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. The weather suddenly changed in the capital Dehradun over the weekend. Since Saturday morning, there was fog in the city and surrounding areas, which increased the chill. A drop in minimum temperature was recorded due to cold winds, while visibility was also affected due to fog. The effect of smog was also visible on air and rail services. Many flights coming to Dehradun had to be diverted, while some were stopped in Delhi itself. Trains are also running late, while the speed of long distance transport corporation buses has also been slowed down.
Weather changed over the weekend, fog in Dehradun since morning, chill increased
In the morning, drivers had to travel slowly on major routes. Children going to school, employees going to office and those going out for morning walk felt the impact of cold more. Due to fog, the cold appeared more severe in the outer and hilly areas of the city.

Minimum temperature dropped due to cold winds, visibility reduced
According to weather experts, the effect of cold winds in the plains may persist for the next few days. Chilliness is likely to increase in the morning and late evening. People have been advised to use warm clothes and take precautions. Due to change in weather, the demand for woolen clothes and hot beverages also increased in the markets.
More severe cold in Mussoorie Cold has gained more strength in the hilly tourist city of Mussoorie. Visibility remained very low in the morning due to dense fog and mist. Due to cold winds, the temperature dropped further, due to which tourists and local people had to face severe cold. People were seen wrapped in warm clothes on Mall Road and surrounding areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the cold in the morning and evening may increase further in Mussoorie and surrounding high altitude areas.
