Samvad Sutra, Sikta. The cold has started increasing. Despite this, there is no concrete arrangement at Anganwadi centers to protect children from cold. Even children do not have enough woolen clothes. Small children are forced to come to the centers in the cold without sweaters and warm clothes.
During the inspection campaign of Anganwadi centers on Wednesday, Jagran's team reached Anganwadi center number 20 of Gauchari Panchayat Sukhpur Tola of the block around 10 am in the morning. There was light fog and cold wind. There were 37 children in one room. None of the children had a sweater. Some had come wearing ganji and some were wearing calf shirts. Some children were shivering.
It was asked that these children do not have sweaters. Servant Sachchi Devi told that you are talking about sweater. The children of this center have not received clothes for three years. Therefore, they come wearing whatever clothes they have. Many times small children come with empty bodies. The maid takes them home.
Explains to parents. Then they come wearing tattered clothes. When an attempt was made to find out the reason for not getting the dress, he said that it should be known to the department. Whatever orders the department gives, they follow it.
There was a queue in the verandah for food at 11:10
Actually, this Anganwadi center runs in the premises of Government Primary School, Sukhpur. The center operates in a single room of the school. At 11:10, assistant Rajmati Devi called all the children in the verandah for food. The children came to the verandah with their respective sacks. Nutritious food was served while sitting on the same sack on which students study.
When information was taken about the carpet, it was told that it was a carpet and it was torn. However, she was making soybean curry and rice in the menu. Children were given food. Actually 40 children are enrolled in this centre. Three children had not come. Whereas the maid said that four-five children grow every day at meal time. They also have to be fed nutrition from the same.
The center shifted to the school four years ago
Parents told that earlier this center used to run at the maid's house. At that time the center was sometimes open and sometimes closed. The children did not even go to the centre. In rural politics, the villagers complained about the center being closed.
Since the center was run at Sevika's house and Sevika used to collect the rent amount from the department. In such a situation, four years ago this center was shifted by borrowing a room in the premises of Primary School Sukhpur. Since then the center is being operated regularly.
