More than a hundred ex-servicemen, their relatives and brave women who attended the program were being honored from a stage built about 50 yards away from the venue of the meeting.

General Officer Commanding (GOC) of North India Area, Lieutenant General DG Mishra was honoring the well-being of the soldiers and their relatives who performed excellently during their service. In this sequence, the announcer from the stage called the name of brave lady Shakuntala Devi, daughter of soldier Ram Singh, Dhanvati Devi. Shakuntala and Dhanvati started staggering as soon as they stood up. On this, the army personnel present there try to support him and take him to the stage.

On seeing this scene, GOC UB Area (AVSM) Lieutenant General DG Mishra himself came down from the stage and reached the brave women sitting in the meeting. He honored the relatives of the brave women and martyrs in the meeting place itself. Also taking note of his well-being, he assured all possible cooperation from the Army. Seeing this scene, the ex-servicemen, army personnel and officers present there expressed their respect towards the Lieutenant General with thunderous applause.

Major General IS Gill, Brigadier Gagandeep Singh along with Lieutenant General also honored the ex-servicemen and their relatives. During this, Veterans Handbook was released, in which information related to the facilities of ex-servicemen and their dependents is available. During the program, Jat Commandant Brigadier Harjeet Preet Pal Singh, Colonel Ventrance Dinesh Shukla and other military officers and soldiers were present.

Honoring retired soldiers of various units of the Indian Army in a program organized at Jat Regiment Center on the occasion of Armed Forces Veterans Day, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of North India Region, Lieutenant General DG Mishra said that the soldiers are dedicated to the honor and glory of the Tricolor.

The country will always be indebted to its soldiers and ex-servicemen. Bareilly has a deep and proud association with the Indian Armed Forces. Ex-servicemen are not just retired soldiers, but they are symbols of lifelong discipline, devotion to duty and service to the nation.

Similarly, our brave women and their family members have also been equal partners in serving the country with calm, silent sacrifice and immense courage. The nation can never forget his contribution. Said that this event is being organized continuously since the year 2017 in the honor of Field Marshal KM Cariappa.

During the program, the problems of ex-servicemen, veterans and their dependents were resolved in the camps organized by Sparsh, ECHS, Bank and Health departments. During this, the Gorkha Regiment displayed the bravery of the army through other cultural presentations including Khukri dance, Jhanj and Gatka and military band.
