Communicative, alert, careful. Astrologer Pandit Shobhit Shastri told that in Hindu religion Sakat Chauth is also known as Tilwa Chauth, Til-Kuta Chauth, Maghi Chauth and Vakra-Tundi Chaturthi. Special enthusiasm is being seen regarding this festival in other rural areas including Sambhal. There is a religious belief that by observing the fast of Sakat Chauth, troubles from children go away and happiness and peace remain in the family.

Fast will be observed on January 6

According to the Panchang, Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Magh month will start at 8:01 am on January 6 and end at 6:52 am on January 7. In such a situation, Sakat Chauth fast will be observed on 6th January as per Udayatithi. On this day, Moon God will rise at 8:59 pm, after which women will break their fast after seeing the moon. Sakat Chauth is called 'Til-Kuta' Chauth because sesame has special significance on this day.

Importance of sesame in worship

In the puja, food made from sesame seeds is offered. Women make a mountain of sesame seeds at the place of worship, which is considered a symbol of life's obstacles. During the puja, this molehill is cut from the middle with a silver coin and wishes for the well-being of the child are given.

Pandit Shobhit Shastri explains that fasting on Sakat Chauth brings special blessings of Lord Ganesha along with Sakat Mata. Ganapati is the remover of obstacles, who removes all troubles and bestows happiness and good fortune on the family. At the same time, seeing Moon God provides mental peace and removes mental troubles.
