Presidents are powerful, but...
Soon after the US Supreme Court's decision, Indian-American lawyer Neel Katyal said, "Today, the Supreme Court of the United States stood up for the rule of law and for all of America. Its message was simple – Presidents are powerful, but our Constitution is even more powerful. In America, only Congress can tax the American people."
This matter is not related to any one President
Katyal described the decision as a significant achievement from a constitutional point of view, saying, "The US Supreme Court fulfilled every demand we had in our legal case. Everything." This case has always been about the presidency, not any one president.
It has always been about separation of powers, not immediate politics. "I'm glad to see that our Supreme Court, which has been the cornerstone of our government for 250 years, is protecting our most fundamental values."
