Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarnagar. The farmers of the district had a lot of expectations from the budget of the state government, but no announcement has been made directly for the farmers of the district or the agriculture related market here. The budget was focused on fulfilling old announcements. In which arrangements have been made for timely payment of sugarcane and other crops, this will indirectly benefit the farmers of the district. For example, here the crop went to the market and there the message of payment will come in the bank account. There are about 3.50 lakh farmers in the district, out of which 2.75 lakh farmers cultivate sugarcane. The total area under sugarcane is 1.75 hectares. The area of wheat is on second place, about 80 thousand hectares. After this, paddy and mustard are cultivated. The area under mustard is about 18 thousand hectares.
Small farmers also cultivate vegetables, fruits and flowers. Apart from these, pulses and oilseeds are cultivated in about 12 thousand hectares. DAP, NPK and urea are used to grow all these crops. Farmers had a lot of expectations from the state government's budget, which included reduction in the prices of urea, DAP and NPK, and strong market arrangements for crops.
It was expected that the grant amount would increase as agricultural equipment became cheaper, but farmers have not received direct relief. At the same time, active farmers say that there may be nothing directly in the budget, but the government has promoted advanced farming. Due to which the farming methods will change and the farmer's income will double. Farmers' reaction
There is nothing for farmers in the budget. Due to neglect by farmers, the youth are not getting involved in farming work. Fertilizer prices should have been reduced and there should have been a local market system for the sale of crops. Chaudhary Virendra Singh, resident of Chhachhrauli, has promoted natural farming in the budget. Due to timely payment of sugarcane and other crops, farmers will not be forced to protest. The income of farmers will increase with the development of agricultural technology. - Chaudhary Sansar Singh resident of Sikandarpur
