Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. Lakhs of population of Greater Noida West are deprived of metro facility. In the name of public transport, there is dependence on autos and e-rickshaws. The metro project is stuck in the files here.

The local people, under the leadership of Nephova Foundation, have now taken to the streets against the pending problem. The organization has warned of a massive peaceful demonstration at Delhi's historic Jantar Mantar on March 15.

A large number of people may participate in the demonstration. Despite the dense population in the area, getting stuck in traffic for hours every day, wastage of time, fuel and increasing burden on health is troubling the residents.

Nephova President Abhishek Kumar said that before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Uttar Pradesh government had sent the Metro file to the Centre, but since then it is still pending. The DPR was canceled thrice and the route was changed, and the file is still withheld in the PMO.

He said that Metro is being approved in less populated areas, but it is being ignored here. We will go to Delhi and raise our voice.

Resident Dipankar Kumar expressed hope that with this demonstration, the metro extension will be approved soon and the project will come back on track. Metro Greater Noida West is needed. Residents have been trying for this facility for a long time.
