Digital Desk, New Delhi. US President Donald Trump will meet Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky today. The purpose of this meeting to be held in Florida is to end the Russia-Ukraine war that has been going on for 4 years, under which a 20 point peace plan will be discussed between the two leaders.
Announcing the meeting on Friday, the White House said that Trump will meet Zelensky on Sunday, December 28, in Palm Beach, Florida. Responding to Zelensky's peace plan before this meeting, Trump said that Trump would be the final decision-maker of any possible agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
What did Trump say?
According to Trump, "Until I approve it, he will have nothing. So let's see what Zelensky's proposal is like. Zelensky had assured to make a new plan to establish peace and start negotiations. It will also mention the security guarantees from America."
Before meeting Trump, Zelensky says that we will try to finalize as many things as possible. Many things can be decided before the New Year.
Hints given for talks with Putin
At the same time, Trump has also hinted at talks with Putin. Trump says, "I think I will have a good conversation with Zelensky. I also expect a better conversation with Putin. I would like to talk to Russian President Putin soon. However, Russia has not shown much interest in this meeting, but American mediation is expected to establish peace."
Zelensky met NATO countries
Before meeting Trump, Zelensky claims that Ukraine is not standing in the way of a peace deal. At the same time, before leaving for America, Zelensky also met the leaders of many NATO countries including Canada, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Estonia.
