Jagran correspondent, Amroha. With the increase in prices of hen's eggs in winter, the demand has increased five times. Due to which there is huge demand for eggs in the market. Due to which the price of egg trays sold in bulk has also increased from Rs 165 to Rs 215 per tray. Whereas eggs are being sold in retail shops for Rs 8 to Rs 9. But poultry farm operators are not able to meet the demand for eggs.

Consumption of hen's eggs not only protects from winter, but also strengthens people's muscles and is a panacea for their immunity. Because its consumption supplies the skin with the moisture it needs due to lack of sunlight and Vitamin D.

Eggs are rich in nutrients like protein, healthy fats, vitamin D and zinc, which provide energy to the body by protecting from diseases like cold and cough. Big poultry farms are also opened at many places in the district for its production. In which eggs are eaten less in summer. Due to which their consumption is less, due to which egg trays were available in bulk for Rs 160 to 170. But as the winter season approaches, the consumption also increases along with the increase in the prices of eggs.

In the month of December, winter has also started showing its colors along with fog. Due to which the consumption has also increased due to increase in the number of people who like to eat hen's eggs. Chhote, a wholesaler of eggs based at Pakka Bagh, said that in summer, a tray of eggs was sold for Rs 160, now in winter it is being sold for Rs 215.

The consumption of eggs in the district has increased more than five times. Due to which even poultry farm operators are not able to meet the demand for eggs. If the situation continues, the prices of eggs may increase further. Whereas customers are getting retail eggs for Rs 8 to Rs 9.

Egg is also being used extensively in omelette and bhujia.

In winter, carts are set up in markets and main intersections at various places in the city and rural areas. In which they are making omelette and bhujia along with boiled eggs and selling them. Due to which their carts remain crowded. People are making egg omelette at home and consuming it.

Egg production reduced due to viral infection

Chaudhary Hitendra Singh has a poultry farm on Kanth Road, Kothi Khidmatpur. At present, about one lakh chickens are being reared in his six sets of farms. He told that the production of eggs has reduced due to viral infection in winter. Because in summer 75 thousand eggs were produced daily, but in winter due to viral, the production of eggs is becoming 60 thousand daily. Hens do not lay eggs when infected.
