Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. A young man molested two women returning from the market in Katghar area. The accused kept following the women from the market to their house. Kept commenting while walking back for about 200 meters.
Many times the women forbade him from following him, but the courage of the accused was so strong that he reached near the houses of both the women.
Hearing the commotion, the women and people nearby ran towards the spot and the accused ran away after threatening them. Police have registered an FIR against the accused Ashraf Ansari.
In the complaint letter given to the police, the woman resident of Ekta Vihar told that he along with another woman of the family had gone to the evening market for shopping on 18th February. While returning from the market, a young man started following me. The accused was commenting while walking behind.
Many times he refused to follow, but even after this he continued to follow. Followed us for about 200 meters. As soon as they reached near the house, the accused started teasing and commenting. The accused first molested a woman.
When the other woman tried to save her, she was also molested. The women made noise in protest. People nearby ran towards the spot. After this the accused ran away.
Inspector Vinod Kumar said that on the basis of the complaint letter, an FIR has been registered against the accused Ashraf Ansari, resident of Lal Masjid Kotwali. The footage of CCTV cameras installed at the place where the incident is reported is also being scrutinized. The case is being investigated. Action will be taken after investigation.
