Shahnawaz Ali, Ghaziabad. In the year 2025, the entrepreneurs of the district kept waiting for relief from the government throughout the year. Non-availability of land remained the biggest obstacle to setting up new industries, which hampered investment and industrial expansion. Apart from this, export-based industries remained under pressure due to the impact of American tariffs. To deal with this, entrepreneurs adopted strategies to explore new markets and reduce costs.

Many industrial areas were gifted new facilities by UPSIDA. In this, the system came back on track to some extent due to street lighting, security through CCTV cameras and responsibility for cleanliness and tax collection.

New avenues of development were opened through government schemes, which increased employment opportunities for thousands of youth and created an investment environment. But the steps taken to deal with old problems like pollution and traffic could not prove effective.

New Industry Policy Large Plot Division Scheme

Sanjeevani for new industries The new policy of Uttar Pradesh Industry Development Corporation (UPCIDA) has revived 211 unused industrial plots in Ghaziabad. The owners of these plots have been allowed to divide and sell their land.

Now avenues for small and smart industries, startups and new investments are open. There are more than 27 thousand industries in 10 clusters here, in which more than five lakh employees work. But in the last two decades no new industrial area could be available for the industry.

Challenges are no less

GDA is looking for land for Greater Ghaziabad

After the announcement by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Ghaziabad Development Authority is preparing to set up another industrial area to create new employment opportunities in the city. For this, GDA started searching for land in other areas of the city including Bhojpur, Muradnagar, Loni and Dasna of Modinagar, away from the city's population. Once the land is available, the establishment of the new industrial area will be expedited. This industrial scheme can be brought in an area of more than 200 hectares.

The new industry policy of selling large plots of land in small pieces is beneficial for both parties. This will benefit both the plot owner and the new entrepreneur. This will create employment along with investment. UPCIDA has planned a budget of Rs 6,190 crore for 2025-26 to improve roads, power supply and sewage systems in industrial areas.

In contrast to the existential crisis facing the global market and industries due to Ukraine and Gulf War in early 2025, this year was quite good for the industries. Apart from the reduction in Inspector Raj, the state government still has a lot to do for small scale industries.
