Lucknow. To root out the illegal drug trade in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a decisive war under the 'Zero Tolerance' policy. The tough stance of the Allahabad High Court against the international syndicate that poisons the veins of youth through codeine cough syrup has put the seal of justice on the government's action. The court's rejection of the 'arrest' petitions of 22 accused is a clear indication that it is now impossible for criminals to escape the clutches of the law.
Big victory for the government in the court
During the four-day marathon debate in the Allahabad High Court, the Yogi government completely demolished the arguments of the lawyers of the mafia, in which it was being described as a mere technical 'license violation'.
Strict comment: After the arguments of Additional Advocate General Anoop Trivedi, the court clarified that illegal storage of cough syrup comes under the purview of NDPS Act.
The government proved that this is not just illegal trade but an organized crime ruining generations. The main accused like Shubham Jaiswal, Bhola Prasad and Vibhor Rana were denied protection from arrest.
33 districts, 140 firms and 75 arrests
This campaign, which started from October 2025, has now become the biggest action against drugs in the history of the country. Joint teams of STF, FSDA and police have exposed the layers of this Rs 2000 crore black empire spread from Nepal to Bangladesh.
Investigation revealed that people like CA Vishnu Aggarwal and dismissed constable Alok Pratap Singh had together woven a web of converting black money into white through 140 fake companies. Efforts to destroy evidence of this network spanning Jharkhand, Himachal and Haryana have also been foiled.
30 bank accounts frozen, now turn for demolition
Yogi government's next attack is on the economic backbone of the mafia. Just sending them to jail is not enough, but preparations have been completed to cripple the criminals financially.
The process of confiscating properties has been initiated under Section 107 of the Indian Civil Defense Code. More than 30 bank accounts have been frozen so far.
Bulldozer Action: Illegal constructions built with the black money of drugs have been identified in Varanasi, Kanpur, Lucknow and Saharanpur. Soon the rumble of bulldozers will be heard on them.
This action of the Chief Minister has sent a clear message that whoever plays with the future of the youth of Uttar Pradesh will have to pay a heavy price for it.
