Dialogue partner, Hazaribagh. A young man was brutally murdered by being stabbed with a sword late on Wednesday night at Indrapuri Chowk in the city. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Suraj Kumar Rana, resident of Madai Khurd. He was a tiles-marble mechanic by profession. The incident is said to have taken place around 10 to 12 midnight on January 1.
According to the information, Suraj had an altercation with some youth at Indrapuri Chowk around 10:00 pm. As the argument escalated, the accused youth forcibly dragged her to the Red Cross building and assaulted her. After this, the accused picked up Suraj and took him towards Lal Kothi Chowk, where he was attacked with a sword.
On receiving the information, police reached the spot and seriously injured Suraj was taken to Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 12 midnight.
The incident took place before the police arrived
There was chaos in the area after the incident. Due to cold, the number of people at Indrapuri Chowk was less, but the commotion could be heard for a long time. According to eyewitnesses, when the accused youth was dragging Suraj away, people nearby informed the police, but before the police arrived, the accused succeeded in their plan.
The police have detained several youths in this case and started questioning them. The reasons for the incident are being investigated. It is said that Suraj was married about five years ago and has two small children. There is chaos in the family after the incident.
