Police solved the murder case within 24 hours and arrested two accused, Harsh Pawar and Nikhil Pawar alias Nishant alias Nikku, both residents of Karol Bagh.

Police are currently searching for their third associate Sunny, who is still absconding. Efforts are also underway to recover the knife used in the murder.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central District, on December 29, Prasad Nagar Police received information from Hedgewar Hospital that a youth from Karol Bagh has been admitted to the hospital in a critical condition. At that time he was not in a condition to give any statement, and an unknown person had admitted him to the hospital. Later on December 29, he died during treatment. The deceased was later identified as Sumit.

A case of murder was registered and investigation started. CCTV footage of the area around the crime scene was examined, which led to the identification of two accused. Based on a tip-off, Harsh Pawar and Nikhil Pawar were arrested. During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had committed the murder along with their brother Sunny.

Further investigation revealed that he had an old dispute with the deceased's friend Hrithik. There was another quarrel between them on 29th December, which the deceased and his brother tried to resolve. Meanwhile, the accused mistakenly thought that they were supporting the other party. Then the absconding accused Sunny attacked the deceased with a knife and fled from the spot.
