Zero Tolerance Campaign Of Delhi Traffic Police: Now Strict Action Will Be Taken At Five Sensitive Places

Delhi Traffic Police starts zero-tolerance enforcement drive.

Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. To curb the increasing traffic jams and frequent violations of rules in the capital, Delhi Traffic Police has started a zero-tolerance enforcement drive. Under this campaign, the police have identified the five most busy and sensitive road stretches, where strict action will now be taken.

According to a senior traffic police official, Madhuban Chowk, Rithala Metro Station, Shahabad Dairy, Badli Metro Station and Sufiabad Crossing of Narela area have been identified for this special campaign. During traffic assessment, continuous traffic jams, repeated violation of traffic rules and excessive movement of heavy vehicles were revealed at these places, especially during peak hours.

According to the police officer, illegal parking and no-entry violations are the major reasons for jam in these areas, due to which the safety of pedestrians is also at risk.

Under the zero-tolerance campaign, strict action will continue against red light jumping, wrong side driving, stop-line violation, illegal parking and dangerous driving. Special traffic teams will be deployed at the five identified locations. Besides, cameras and on-ground surveillance will also be increased.

According to the official, the objective of this campaign is to make the movement of vehicles smooth and safe by maintaining discipline on the roads, so that common citizens can get relief from jams and chaos.
