According to the information, Hem Shankar's friend and eyewitness Nilesh Kumar, who was present at the spot at the time of the accident, who is also working in Zepto, said that Hem Shankar was stopped at the red light, when the Verna car coming from behind hit him. The speed of the car must have been more than 100 kilometers per hour.
Even after the collision, the car did not stop and went away and collided with a wall. There were two people in the car and both were completely intoxicated. Due to this intoxication, he could not control the car, otherwise he was planning to flee from the spot.
The burden of the family was on him
Hem Shankar was a resident of Raghubir Nagar and the responsibility of the entire family was on his shoulders. Hem's father Nand Kishore died in the year 2015. The family consists of his mother Rukmini and 12-year-old younger brother Samar. Hem also has an elder brother Devendra, but he lives separately with his family after marriage.
After the death of his father, it was his mother who was bearing the burden by working as a domestic help. Due to his mother being ill, Hem had taken upon himself the burden of the household for the last three years.
His death has left the family in deep shock. Eyewitnesses say that the carelessness and drunken state of the accused have ruined a happy family. Police have registered an FIR against the accused under relevant sections and a detailed investigation is being conducted into the matter.
