Rahul Kumar, Banka. The last two years have been a year of major changes in the education department. Teachers increased from eight thousand to 12 thousand. The new year 2026 will also be a year of big changes in the district. This year the government will open one degree college in every block. For this, work is starting in Katoria block. Postgraduate studies will also start in PBS College this year for the first time in the district.

After decades, the government has decided to build one model high school each in all 11 blocks under the Seven Nishchay Scheme. This high school will also have residential facilities for children. Its construction work will start in this financial year. The new year is also going to be great in the direction of removing the shortage of resources in government schools. Many new inter schools will also get their new buildings in the new year.

In the first one-two months of 2026, the education department will get its first building in the district. All the government offices of the education department will be shifted to this building itself. Three and a half decades after the formation of the district, the DEO office is still running in the middle school building, the establishment office is running in the residence of SSA Girls School, the literacy, secondary education and accounting planning office is running in the residence of RMK School and the SSA is running in a rented house.

Steps will be taken towards quality education

NITI Aayog has been making continuous efforts for the last three-four years to correct the direction of quality education in the district. Its partial effect is visible so far. But with schemes like Nipun, Peer Learning, Chahak, PBS, the learning ability of children is now improving. In the last few months, the district has achieved many achievements through this.

DEO Devnarayan Pandit says that it is the priority of the department to make quality education effective in classes 1st to 12th. For this we now have adequate resources and teachers available. This year, work has to be done on developing the learning abilities of children. As soon as face attendance of children starts in the new year, schools will not have any complaints about children not coming.

Pradhans like Anamika, Khushboo, Sarika, Shankar are changing the picture.

Decades later, the Education Department reinstated the heads of high and primary schools from the BPSC. The picture of the schools has started changing after they got heads for the first time. Especially many defunct schools have started changing after just a few months of efforts. In this, Anamika Nandini has transformed the nearby Eksingha Vidyalaya. More than 90 percent of children are coming in costume every day.

Most are coming to school with shoes, ties and bags. Rajun Madani's Sarika Patani is in the news for doing better than before. She is investing up to her salary in changing schools. Khushboo Kumari, who was already in the news for her teaching style, is now making Vidyadih Government School shine under her leadership. The work of Shankar Das in Bagdhaswa of Naxal-affected Belhar and Shankar Harijan in Saijpur is in constant discussion. The story of change is being written in many schools including Kathel, Danda, Kamalpur.
