Jagran correspondent, Jewar. The foundation stone of North India's first semiconductor plant was laid on Saturday in Sector 28 of Yamuna Authority. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav described it as historic and a big step towards making the country self-reliant in chip manufacturing.
M/s India Chip Private Limited, a joint venture of HCL and Foxconn Company, is spending approximately Rs 4000 crore on this plant. After the commissioning of the plant, 3000 people will get employment. Manufacturing of unit small panel driver IC, display integrated circuit etc. in the plant will eliminate the dependence of chips from foreign countries.
Speak openly on the importance of chip
Union Minister of Railway Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnav, while addressing the program, explained the importance of a small chip and said that if a machine worth Rs 10 crore does not have a chip worth Rs 100, it will not work. He said that a difficult task like writing the entire Ramcharitmanas on the nail of the thumb is to make a chip and this work is now going to be done in the jewelery industry.

He said that many types of manufacturing become possible in a country where semiconductors are available. A difficult task like making 500 crore components in a small chip will be done in a semiconductor plant. Students have been connected to this. There are 18 institutions in the country where along with teaching chip designing to the students, production work is also being done. In the AI Summit, delegates from 128 countries learned about India's thinking and vision towards AI. 86 countries have signed the common document.
3.60 crore chips will be made every month
He said that in the last 12 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established the country as an electronics power house. Electronics manufacturing in the country was zero, today it has reached Rs 12 lakh crore. The country has reached third place in exports. 50 percent of mobile manufacturing in the country is taking place in Uttar Pradesh. The state has 25 percent contribution in electronic manufacturing. Now 3 crore 60 lakh chips will be made every month in the semiconductor plant.
Northern Corridor will be built connecting UP to Siliguri
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Prime Minister has given Rs 20 thousand crore in Railways to Uttar Pradesh in the budget. Railways is investing Rs 92 thousand crore in UP. Now in UP, Bluet train will run from Delhi to Siliguri via Varanasi and Patna.
