Jagran correspondent, Baghpat. So far, notices have been issued to 35 thousand people under SIR but only 561 have reached the people. These notices are being issued to those people whose mapping could not be done. That is, they could not provide proof of their name not being in the voter lists of 2003 or the details given did not match. To ensure that no eligible person is deprived of getting the vote cast, work will be done on Sunday to read out and show the voter list at all 1081 booths in the district and to get new votes made, cut and shifted.
The purpose of this special campaign, which will be run at the booths on Sunday on the instructions of the Election Commission of India, is to ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of the voter list. Voters whose entries have errors can be corrected in time.
Will appeal to all voters
BLOs will read out the voter list at the booths and appeal to all voters to check their name, address and other details carefully. If any spelling error, wrong address or other mistake is found, you will be advised to fill the relevant form to get it corrected immediately.
Eligible citizens whose names are not in the list will be able to apply for inclusion by filling Form 6. Form-7 will be available for removal of name from the voter list and Form-8 for any kind of error correction or transfer will be available at the booth. Those who have entered their mobile number in Form 6 will be able to download the e-Voter ID card as soon as their name is added to the voter list.
Printed voter ID cards will be sent to their addresses by post. DM said that people can go to the booths and get their problems resolved. On the other hand, on Saturday also, BLOs did SIR related work at the booths and solved the problems of the people.
