A total of seven companies including SBI General Insurance Company Limited and United India Insurance Company Limited have filled the tender for health insurance of state employees. Other companies include ICICI Lombard, Tata AIG General Insurance, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited, HDFC Ego General Insurance and IndusInd General Insurance Company Limited.
The last date for filling the tender was 16 February. The next day on Tuesday the technical bid opened. Earlier, a pre-bid meeting was held, in which the problems of the companies were resolved.
The competition in this tender has increased with the participation of both government and private sector companies for health insurance of state employees, which is expected to provide better coverage and quality health services to the state employees. Let us tell you that many changes have been made in this scheme. Under the new system, payments to hospitals will be made at CGHS rates, to ensure transparency and standardization.
Also, under the scheme, treatment facility will be available on the basis of actual receipt or CGHS rate in reputed hospitals of the country, which include CMC, Vellore, AIG, Hyderabad, all hospitals of Tata Group, ILBS, New Delhi, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Delhi, Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Bengaluru, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, Medanta The Medicity, Gurugram, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, New Delhi. Delhi, National Heart Institute, New Delhi, Shankar Nethralaya, Chennai and Kolkata, Narayana Health, Bengaluru, BM Birla Heart Research Centre, Kolkata. Presently the health insurance was being done by Tata AIG, whose tenure is ending this month.
21 patients suffering from serious diseases will get financial assistance
The meeting of Jharkhand State Arogya Samiti was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chhavi Ranjan, Executive Director of Jharkhand State Arogya Samiti. In this meeting, consent was given to provide financial assistance to 21 patients under the Chief Minister Critical Illness Treatment Scheme.
Under this, grant proposals ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh for the treatment of cancer, kidney transplant and other serious diseases were reviewed. At the same time, it was decided to send a cabinet proposal after physical verification of the case involving more than Rs 10 lakh in the treatment of a patient from Pakur. In case of two other patients of Giridih, instructions were given for physical verification of the current medical condition.
The Executive Director directed that in future, the current condition of the patient should be clearly mentioned in the applications received from the districts. If the patient is unable to attend, their verification should be ensured through video conferencing.
