JNN, Surguja. On Monday night, 13 delinquent children escaped from the Place of Safety in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh by climbing the wall of the premises. Of these, four delinquent children have been caught. All of them were involved in serious incidents like murder, attempt to murder, and rape.

The incident took place when the delinquent children were being taken inside the ward after dinner at around 9 pm. During this time, delinquent children also attacked the security guard on duty.

Bhanu Pratap, in-charge of Place of Safety, said that this institute is run for teenagers detained in serious crimes, where teenagers below the age of 15 to 18 years are kept. The capacity of the institution is 25, but at the time of the incident, 36 children were kept there. Gandhinagar police station in-charge Praveen Dwivedi said that an FIR has been registered in the police station against the absconding of 13 delinquent teenagers.
