ISP's action against outstanding electricity charges on shopkeepers

Samvad Sahayak, Jagran, Burnpur: The estate department of SAIL-ISCO Steel Plant has started the process of cutting off the electricity supply from February 17 by taking strict action in the cases of outstanding electricity charges in the Daily Market and Mini Market area located in Burnpur. This action has been taken against those licensed shops which had not settled the outstanding payment of electricity supply despite being issued due notice earlier. The concerned shopkeepers were clearly informed a few days ago by giving written notice to make the payment, but the outstanding amount was not deposited within the stipulated time. This step taken by the Estate Department is part of the special campaign being run with the aim of recovering the outstanding revenue and ensuring financial discipline. The department has clarified that timely payment of fees is mandatory for all licensees using the company's assets and services, and in case of violation of the rules, action will be taken as per rules. The management has reiterated that this step is necessary to maintain the strength of the company's revenue system and proper management of resources. Also, an appeal has been made to the shopkeepers to complete the process of restoring electricity supply by paying their dues immediately. SAIL-ISP administration will continue such action in future also for financial discipline, transparency and protection of company interests.
