7 Postal Workers Accused Of Embezzling Rs 2.67 Crore Arrested In Firozabad

Jagran correspondent, Firozabad. After nine months, the police has taken major action in the embezzlement of Rs 2.67 crore in the sub post office. Seven postal employees found involved in the case were arrested by the police on Sunday and sent to jail. A woman is also included in these. Departmental action was already underway against everyone. Two have also been suspended. The main accused, the Deputy Postmaster, was sent to jail by the police three months ago.

The embezzlement was committed in the sub post office near Tundla Junction between January 1, 2023 and April 9, 2024 by manipulating the transactions taking place between sub post offices. It was investigated by Assistant Superintendent Post Office Sub Division Firozabad Ajay Dubey. On March 12, he had lodged an FIR against Deputy Postmaster Ravi Prakash Rathore, who was posted here.

The department started investigation

With this the department started a detailed investigation. Departmental action was initiated against seven employees. Their names also came up in the police investigation. Inspector Anil Kumar said that seven accused have been arrested at 11 am on Sunday.

Among them, Ajay Kumar Tomar, Kuldeep, Sandeep, Saurabh Kumar, Tarun Kumar, Prashant Kumar and Ankita Kumari have been arrested and sent to jail. The Inspector said that the embezzled amount was withdrawn from their accounts.
