Jagran correspondent, Agra. Rajouri Garden (Delhi) actor Maan Singh, who has worked in many web series including The Family Man, has been arrested by the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) from Mumbai for smuggling of the drug MDMA (Heroin). The team took him on transit remand and reached Agra on Sunday. A case has been registered against the accused in New Agra police station.
The police have already arrested his associates. The police had arrested two members of the drug trafficking gang in October 2024. Man Singh's name also came up in the investigation. Since then the police team was searching for him. ANTF Agra Unit arrested the accused from Mumbai on 11 December.
What was told during interrogation?
The accused told during police interrogation that he wanted to work as a hero in films. So went to Mumbai in the year 2008. He got supporting roles in films as well as web series. During this time, he met a drug smuggler and he also started working with him. ANTF SP Chakresh Mishra said, the accused was wanted for a long time. Investigation is also going on about other people involved in smuggling.
The name had come to light through fund transfer. Police had arrested Shailendra Kumar and Hariom Dhakre on October 3, 2024 for heroin smuggling. Apart from both of them, a case was registered against New Delhi resident Shailendra Rana. The police team got information about transfer of money from the bank accounts of the accused to the account of Man Singh. ANTF investigation revealed that Man Singh had come to Agra several times to supply heroin.
