Digital Desk, New Delhi. New York's newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani has canceled two executive orders of the former mayor as soon as he assumed power. Israel has criticized Zoharan Mamdani regarding this. The Israeli government has accused Mamdani of being anti-Semitic.

Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams issued 2 executive orders stating that certain criticisms against Israel would be considered anti-Semitic and that no one would boycott Israel. However, Zoharan Mamdani has announced the cancellation of these orders, due to which the Israeli government is furious.

Israel's Foreign Ministry wrote on social media platform

Let us tell you that Zohran Mamdani took oath as New York Mayor on Thursday. A few hours later he announced the cancellation of the order. According to Mamdani, the Mayor has the authority to implement and withdraw any executive order.

According to Zohran Mamdani,

We are committed to ensuring the safety of Jewish citizens in New York, and we will make this a reality.

Zohran Mamdani becomes the 112th mayor of New York City. Mamdani, 34, has become the youngest person to hold the post of mayor. He is the city's first Muslim and South Asian-origin mayor.
