Jagran correspondent, Khagaria. Once again an encroachment removal campaign was conducted in the city on Saturday. This campaign was run from Rajendra Chowk, the ‘heart place’ of the city, to Bakhri bus stand.
The campaign was led by Khagaria Municipal Council Executive Officer Sindhu Kamal. Heavy machines were also used on this occasion. This campaign, which was conducted in extreme cold, created a stir.
It is known that a few days ago an encroachment removal campaign was conducted here. But as soon as a few days passed, carts, kiosks etc. started getting decorated again on the road from Rajendra Chowk to Bakhri bus stand.
At the same time, Toto drivers are also fearlessly considering the road as a vehicle stop. Due to which the traffic system is being affected. As soon as the campaign started on Saturday, Toto drivers were seen running here and there with their vehicles. Goods of many retailers have also been seized.
Let us tell you that the road from Rajendra Chowk to Bakhri Bus Stand is the lifeline of the city. It is through this route that people come and go to Khagaria station, Machli Aadhat, Bakhri bus stand and other places.
But due to encroachment and negligence of toto drivers, traffic jams keep occurring here. Even the footpaths built for the convenience of citizens are encroached upon.
Action has been taken against those who disrupt traffic by keeping items on the road. Goods have also been confiscated. Places have been marked in the market committee for retailers. If the road is encroached again, more strict action will be taken. Cooperation is expected from everyone in realizing the dream of ‘Green Khagaria, Clean Khagaria’.
