Jagran correspondent, Noida. After the death of software engineer Yuvraj Mehta by drowning in the pit dug for the basement of the mall in Sector-150, two departments of Noida Authority, NTC (Noida Traffic Cell) and Public Health Department, have been dissolved.
After the investigation by the SIT constituted at the government level, the report is still pending. Two officers of the civil and public health departments of the authority have been transferred to other places. The most important SIT report is still pending.
Allegations of negligence on all departments
Yuvraj Mehta had died a month ago due to negligence and delay in rescue. The matter escalated. All departments were accused of negligence in this. The Chief Minister took cognizance of the incident and took immediate action and removed the CEO. ACEO Krishna Karunesh got the responsibility of CEO.
The Chief Minister constituted a four-member SIT to investigate headed by ADG Meerut Zone Bhanu Bhaskar. SIT sent the report to the government after five days of investigation. Action based on this report from the government level and the actual negligence being exposed is pending. After the incident, the new CEO first dissolved the NTC and the Public Health Department and handed over all responsibilities to the Work Circle officers.
Improvement work was done after death
The death of the young man was due to negligence. The authority did not take timely cognizance of the complaints. Barricading was done here after the incident. Street lights and other improvement works were done on the spot.
Work circle in-charge changed
Noida Authority has 10 work circles. After the death of Yuvraj, the work area of almost all the work circle in-charges was changed. The CEO held a review meeting of such open drains and pits in the city. Asked for report from work circle officers. Improvement work was started in these.
