ANI, New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the discussions held at the CEO Roundtable during the AI ​​Impact Summit were sensible, forward-thinking and focused on opening up opportunities for growth.

In a post on X, he said it was heartening to see a shared commitment to using AI for progress and sustainable development.

PM Modi said in the post, “The CEO Roundtable brought together different stakeholders from the world of AI, technology and innovation. “The discussions were insightful and forward-thinking, focused on responsibly scaling AI, strengthening global collaboration, and unlocking opportunities for growth.”

Earlier, while speaking in the Leaders Plenary Session of the Summit, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that this Summit will play an important role in creating a human-centric and sensitive global AI ecosystem. History shows that humanity has always converted difficulties into opportunities and today is another such opportunity to convert difficulties into humanity's biggest opportunity.

PM Modi recalled the teachings of Lord Buddha that "right action is done with right understanding" and stressed the importance of creating a roadmap that ensures positive impact of AI through timely, well-intentioned and right decisions.

It is a matter of pride that this summit is taking place in India.

He said that during the Covid pandemic, the world saw that when countries stand together, even the impossible becomes possible. Technology has created divisions in the past, but now AI should be easy to find and accessible to everyone. When discussing the future of AI, the expectations and needs of the Global South must be placed at the center of AI governance. It is a matter of pride for the Global South that this summit is being held in India.

Addressing the summit, PM Modi said that India is emerging as a "natural hub" for AI, for which a strong digital base, secure infrastructure and a vibrant startup ecosystem is being created.

He said, “I am happy to tell you that three Indian companies have launched their AI models and applications in this summit. These models showcase the talents of our youth. They also show the solutions that India is offering to the world.

PM Modi said, "India has diversity, population and democracy. The AI ​​model which can be successful in India can be successful across the world. Design and develop in India. Give to the world, give to humanity.

Also said, we have to give open sky to AI, but at the same time we have to keep the reins in our hands. Comparing the power of AI to nuclear energy, he said, "We have seen its devastation and also its positive contribution."

The summit was wonderful: Nilekani

Speaking at the CEO Forum, Infosys Co-Founder Nandan Nilekani said that the summit has been fantastic and with Prime Minister Modi's vision of benefiting the common man, workers and farmers, AI will truly take off in the country. He said India will lead the world in showing how the expansion of AI can help improve the lives of the common man, farmers, students and patients.

Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has said that the real challenge in Artificial Intelligence is not in developing it, but in making it accessible to the wider public.

Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit, he said, we have learned that technology dissemination is a different challenge, how do you take technology to a billion people. This is important for us.
