After the resignation of Bareilly City Magistrate Alankar Agnihotri, he reached his in-laws' house in Snehnagar locality on VVIP Road in Alambagh of the capital at around 8 pm on Wednesday night under police custody. During this time the local police was also present on the spot.
According to family members, Alankar Agnihotri stayed at home at night with his brothers-in-law Abhinav Mishra and Abhijeet Mishra. Abhinav Mishra told that he is unemployed and lives at home, while younger brother Abhijeet Mishra is a software engineer. After reaching home, Alankar Agnihotri had a light meal, which included pulses and rice, and rested for some time.

Bareilly police took him to Etah on Thursday morning. Elder brother-in-law Abhinav Mishra told that Alankar Agnihotri has always been topper in studies and his rank in administrative service was 50th. He said that Alankar is a person of militant and calm nature and whatever resolution he takes, he fulfills it.
According to Abhinav Mishra, due to the presence of police, he could not talk much. He also said that the decision taken by Alankar must have been taken after careful consideration and he also denied having any relative in Etah. It was told that the name of Alankar Agnihotri's wife is Aastha Agnihotri. Aastha's father Ashok Kumar Mishra was working in a senior position in Railways, who died about one and a half years ago. Aastha and Alankar got married in the year 2014.
