Manya Bahal, a resident of Indrapuri, has not only gained recognition at the national level through NCC, but has also brought glory to India and Ambala on the international stage. Manya is a final year BA student of Dev DAV College, Chandigarh. NCC Cadet Manya Bahal was selected for Bhutan under the Youth Exchange Programme, where she represented India.
Manya has been a student of Bharatiya Public School, Ambala Cantonment. Mother Jyoti Bahal is working as Principal in Topkhana SD Senior Secondary School. This journey of Manya has not been easy. While joining NCC in the first year of college, he found the morning muster parade and disciplined routine difficult, but gradually this discipline became the strength of his life.
He passed the written examination of the Army Camp and got selection at the unit level, but due to jaundice he had to withdraw from this opportunity. After recovering, he started preparations with new enthusiasm. With the support of ANO, Unit staff and seniors, he conducted the trials of the cultural team of Republic Day Camp.
Was selected for Republic Day Camp after five months of training
After about five months of rigorous training and continuous practice, he was selected for the Republic Day Camp in 2024. Manya had many historic and proud experiences during the Republic Day Camp. He presented at the Prime Minister's residence, visited Rashtrapati Bhavan and met the Chief of Defense Staff.
Interaction with cadets from across the country and abroad gave a new direction to his leadership skills, confidence and thinking. In view of Manya's leadership abilities, in the third year of NCC, he was given the rank of Senior Under Officer. During this time he got information about Youth Exchange Programme. He was selected for Bhutan after several stages of examinations and interviews.
Represented India in international programs
Manya Bahl represented India in this international event held from 12 to 19 December. The objective of the program was to strengthen cultural exchange, leadership development and mutual friendship among the youth of India, Nepal and Bhutan.
During this, the delegation visited major places like Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and Bumthang. Participating in Bhutan's 118th National Day celebrations on 17th December was the most special moment of this trip. Manya had the opportunity to meet Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Home Minister Lyonpo Tshering.
