Police on Thursday arrested another named accused in the sensational case of raping a missing girl from Gorakhnath area by keeping her hostage in a hotel and spa center. On the basis of the statement recorded in the court of the victim, the name of Alok Pandit, resident of Holia Partawal of Kushinagar district, had come to light.
Earlier in the same case, the police had sent the accused's brother Aditya to jail. The role of many accused associated with this gang has come to light in the police investigation and preparations are on to file a charge sheet soon and prosecute them in the fast track court.
This matter came to light on January 5, when a teenage girl from Gorakhnath area went missing from home under suspicious circumstances. On the complaint of family members, the police registered a missing person, but in the initial days no trace of the girl could be found. As the investigation progressed, it came to light that the girl had moved out of the city after having contact through Instagram.
According to the police, the girl was first kept in a hotel in Karimnagar and then in Bettiahata area, where she was raped. After this he was sent to the spa center in Barhalganj town. The girl, who was kept hidden at different places for about 17 days, was recovered by the police from a hotel in Naushad area on January 22.
After the recovery, the girl was taken under protection and her statement was recorded, in which she revealed the names of the hotel owner, hotel manager, spa center operator and other associates. Earlier, the police have arrested six accused including Bhoomi Palace hotel owner Abhay alias Dhirendra Singh, hotel manager Adarsh Pandey, spa center manager Ankit Kumar, a youth who came in contact through internet media and Aditya and sent them to jail.

The investigator is examining all the CC camera footage related to the movement of the girl, forensic examination of the mobile phones of the accused, call detail records and WhatsApp chats. The police are also trying to find out who else were involved in this entire network and whether such incidents have happened before also.
Based on the statement of the girl, sections of gang rape, conspiracy and POCSO Act have already been added to the case. After completing the investigation soon, chargesheet will be filed and the case will be taken to the fast track court, so that the victim can get justice quickly. Action has been taken against the police station officer and five outpost in-charges. When negligence in this case came to light, SSP Rajkaran Nayyar had suspended Inspector Shashibhushan Rai, who was in-charge of Gorakhnath police station, Anup Singh, in-charge of Vikas Nagar outpost, Amresh Singh, in-charge of Betiyahata outpost, Aditya Upadhyay, in-charge of Unwal outpost, Rajiv Tiwari, in-charge of Badhalganj town outpost, and Prashant Pathak, in-charge of Fertilizer outpost.
