Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. On Shivratri, lakhs of devotees gather in the major temples of the city. The administration is taking all necessary steps to ensure that no untoward incident happens during the festival. DM Visakh ji and Joint Police Commissioner Bablu Kumar took stock of the preparations being made for crowd control at Mankameshwar and Buddheshwar temples.
At the Mankameshwar temple in Daliganj, the District Magistrate directed that the faulty lights on the approach road of the temple should be replaced immediately and comprehensive arrangement of road lighting should be ensured.
Inspector in-charge told that during the festival of Shivratri, a large number of devotees come for darshan from 3 pm to 11 pm on the next day. For which vehicular traffic is restricted on the road below the dam, traffic is allowed only on foot.
Apart from this, by barricading from the temple gate to the temple, separate lines of male and female devotees are made to have darshan. On this, the DM directed to identify the parking spots and make a parking plan and crowd management plan.
An integrated control room should be established at Mankameshwar police post and temple premises by deploying officers from departments like police, additional city magistrate, municipal corporation, health department and electricity department 24 hours a day. It should also be ensured that there is sufficient space for the movement of devotees.
Similarly, officials at Buddheshwar Temple said that there is a no vehicle zone from Buddheshwar intersection to the temple. Devotees travel on foot from the intersection to the temple. Entry is from gate number one and exit is from gate number three. There are separate lines for men and women at the entry gate.
Deputy District Magistrate Sadar informed that a joint control room of police and district administration has been set up in the temple premises where monitoring is done through live feed of CCTV cameras. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar and other officials were also present during the inspection.
