Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. With the announcement of Municipal Corporation elections, Model Code of Conduct has come into force in Ranchi city. Regarding this, a review meeting of the Enforcement Branch of the Municipal Corporation was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Additional Administrator Sanjay Kumar.

In this, the Additional Administrator directed the Enforcement Team to immediately remove political or other types of political posters, banners, flags and wall writing from all public properties such as government buildings, walls, electric poles, culverts and other public places while ensuring compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.

Instructions for on spot fine

Besides, those contesting elections were also asked to follow the code of conduct. Also, under the Swachh Survekshan 2025-26, with the aim of making the city clean, beautiful and free from open dirt, instructions were given to take strict action and on-spot fine against the violators.

Fines will be collected from the concerned persons and operators for open defecation, spitting after eating paan-gutkha in public places, dumping construction and demolition waste on roads and public places, throwing garbage in the open and not keeping dustbins outside shops and establishments.

Order to take action without any discrimination

The Additional Administrator clarified that regular inspection should be done on all these points and action should be taken without any discrimination, so that the cleanliness system of the city can be strengthened and Ranchi's ranking in the Swachh Survekshan 2025-26 can be improved. All the enforcement officers including the city manager were present in the meeting.
