Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. Even after buses stopped operating from the Charbagh bus station complex on Thursday, buses from other depots continued arriving. There was continuous traffic jam throughout the day when the buses were parked on the roadside. The Transport Corporation has now deployed six employees on duty at three locations, so that all buses are diverted to Alambagh Bus Terminal. Now a fine of Rs 200 will be collected from every bus on reaching Charbagh. The construction work of Charbagh Terminal will be completed in two years.
Charbagh Bus Terminal is also to be built under Private Public Partnership i.e. PPP. Keeping this in mind, 300 buses running from Charbagh station started operating from Alambagh terminal from Thursday. The process of shifting the bus station staff and buses has been completed. Mumbai's DGS Township Private Limited will spend Rs 50 crore to build Charbagh Bus Terminal.
300 buses of Charbagh Depot, Suburban and Haidergarh Depot running from Charbagh Bus Station started operating from Alambagh from January 15. Even after this information, buses coming from eastern districts and Kanpur division started queuing up to reach Charbagh. This caused road jams many times.
People faced problems in transportation. In fact, 25 thousand passengers travel through Charbagh every day. He also reached Alambagh by metro or auto tempo. Buses were sent from platforms 8 to 12 at the terminal to Kanpur, Fatehpur, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur, Haidergarh, Unnao and other places.
Regional Manager RK Tripathi said, operation of buses has started from Alambagh, staff has been sent there and platform numbers 8 to 12 of Alambagh Terminal have been allotted for Charbagh buses. ARM has been entrusted with the responsibility to ensure that buses are not parked on the road.
Two employees have been put on duty for eight hours each in front of Tedhi Pulia, Alambagh police station and Charbagh bus station. These buses will be sent towards Alambagh Terminal, those who do not follow this instruction will be fined Rs 200. Arrangements have been made to stop the buses in the parking lot of the terminal.
