Bhagwant Mann appealed to avoid the lies being spread by the opposition regarding 'Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana'.
Jagran correspondent, Chandigarh. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today appealed to the people of Punjab not to be misled by the propaganda being spread by anti-Punjab forces regarding the 'Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana' launched by the state government for every family.
Addressing the people through a video message, Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Punjab Government has launched this flagship public welfare scheme so that every citizen of Punjab, especially the weaker sections of the society, gets direct access to cashless treatment.”
Speaking about the initiative, Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "To provide comprehensive healthcare facilities to the people, the state government has launched 'Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana', which is the first of its kind in the country. Under this, every family in Punjab can get cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh."
Punjab first state in India to have free health scheme: Mann
Describing it as a historic achievement, the Chief Minister said, "It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that Punjab has become the first state in India to provide free health services on a widespread scale. This scheme will significantly reduce the financial burden on the people and at the same time ensure access to quality health services."
Giving information about registration in this scheme, Bhagwant Singh Mann said, "The objective of this historic step is to provide cashless health services to all the families of the state. All government employees, pensioners and other citizens are eligible for the health card. This health card can be obtained from convenience centers and common service centers or through online registration using Aadhaar card or voter card."
Referring to the enthusiasm received from the people, he said that this scheme has been greatly welcomed by the people of Punjab and people are coming forward in large numbers to avail the benefits of this scheme. He said that this initiative has brought great relief to those families who earlier had to pay huge expenses for the treatment of the disease from their own pockets.
Punjab opponents do not want development of people: Mann
Cautioning against spreading misinformation, the Chief Minister said that some anti-Punjab forces, who do not want the people of the state to get such facilities, are deliberately spreading lies about this flagship scheme. He further said that the purpose of the absurd statements being made by the opposition regarding the scheme is only to disenchant the people with this scheme, which is completely unreasonable and unfair.
Clarifying the process of empanelment of hospitals, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has empaneled more and more private hospitals under this scheme and under this scheme the government has fixed rates for about 2,600 diseases and treatment services.
Explaining the payment method, he said that the government will pay the hospitals as per mutually agreed rates, no matter how much the hospitals are charging from outside for any disease or treatment service.
Explaining the accountability of hospitals, the Chief Minister said that all hospitals empaneled under the scheme are bound to provide treatment at the rates fixed by the government and have been directed to ensure that beneficiaries get cashless treatment.
Not a single penny will be taken from the beneficiaries: Mann
Outrightly rejecting any misinformation about the scheme, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said the hospitals will be paid directly by the government and not a single penny will be taken from the beneficiaries. He strongly rejected the efforts of anti-Punjab forces to present a misleading and false picture regarding this scheme and appealed to the people to stay away from rumours.
Talking about the benefits of the scheme, the Chief Minister clearly said that the treatment services for the beneficiaries under ‘Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana’ are cashless and no fees will be charged from the patients by the hospitals.
Appealing to the people to remain alert, he said that people should beware of such forces which are bent on harming the public interest by spreading baseless rumours. He said that I appeal to all Punjabis not to pay heed to any kind of rumours.
Elaborating about the treatment services under the scheme, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has made a concrete system under which the entire treatment process from admission to the hospital, investigation or test, treatment and discharge from the hospital will remain cashless.
Complain if hospital asks for money: Mann
Giving a clear warning regarding the violations, the Chief Minister said that if any hospital demands money from a patient under this scheme, a complaint should be immediately lodged with the government. He further said that the government will take strict, punitive and exemplary action against any hospital found involved in such wrongdoings.
In the end, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I appeal to the people of Punjab to take maximum advantage of this scheme, which is being appreciated all over the world.”
