Jagran correspondent, Darbhanga. DM Inspection Update: An important update has come out regarding the construction of Baheri bypass road. District Magistrate Kaushal Kumar conducted on-site inspection of Bahedi bypass road construction work on Wednesday. During this period, the progress and quality of construction of bridges was reviewed.
The Assistant Engineer of the Road Construction Department told the District Magistrate that the total length of the Bahedi bypass road is 4.9 kilometers. Under this scheme, a total of 13 small and big bridges are proposed to be constructed. Till now the construction of 11 bridges and culverts has been completed. The construction work of one culvert is in progress, while the construction of a bigger bridge will be started soon.
During the inspection, it was also informed that the earth filling work has been completed for about four kilometers. Whereas the work of GSB (Granular Sub-Base) has been completed in one kilometer. The administration has set a target to complete this ambitious plan by the month of June.
District Land Acquisition Officer said that the process of payment related to land acquisition is going on continuously. During inspection, it was found that the prescribed width of the road is seven meters and the houses of some tenants are coming in the alignment of the road. On this, the District Magistrate directed that the houses of the affected tenants should be duly evaluated and prompt payment should be ensured, so that the construction work can be completed within the stipulated time.
District Land Acquisition Officer informed that till now Rs 17.92 crore has been paid to 103 Panchayats. The process of payment of the remaining amount is also in progress. The administration made it clear that negligence will not be tolerated at any level and the Baheri bypass will be completed on time.
