According to the victim's side, the woman had gone from home to the garden on Wednesday afternoon to defecate. Meanwhile, taking advantage of the deserted place, my cousin father-in-law forcibly caught her and raped her.
After the incident, the victim along with her husband, brother-in-law and sister-in-law reached the police station and tried to lodge a complaint of rape. The family members allege that the police have registered a case under the section of molestation instead of rape.
There is anger among the family members due to this. The victim's sister-in-law says that if action is not taken under appropriate sections, she will complain to higher authorities. He has demanded strict legal action against the accused.
Police Station Head Vivek Verma said that according to the complaint of the victim, a case of molestation has been registered and investigation is being done. Further action will be taken based on the facts. Prima facie the matter appears to be related to a domestic dispute.
