Jagran correspondent, Faridabad. The brass artefacts and carvings done on them are attracting the attention of the visitors coming to the Surajkund International Self-reliant Crafts Fair. People are liking these artworks very much. Visitors are also purchasing these artefacts.

Delhi-based craftsman and National Award winner Balkishan said that he has been making brass sculptures for the last four generations. He has been a continuous part of Surajkund fair for the last 38 years. The fine carving and purity of his sculptures are his identity, for which he has been honored at the national level. The idols contain not just metal, but the experience and devotion of four generations. Surajkund Fair is not just a platform for trade but also a celebration of presenting one's heritage to the world.

Statues worth up to Rs 2 lakh are available

Balkishan has also been honored with the National Award by the Government of India for his extraordinary art and dedication. Tourists coming to the craft fair are not only purchasing these sculptures but are also admiring the art of Balkishan. His stall number in the fair is 142. The price of the idols ranges from Rs 200 to Rs 2 lakh.
