State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata. Ahead of the assembly elections in Bengal, the state government on Saturday again reshuffled the police department and shifted six senior IPS officers.
According to the notification issued by the state police headquarters in the evening, senior IPS Rajeev Mishra has been appointed as the new ADG of South Bengal. He will replace Supratim Sarkar. The post of ADG, South Bengal was vacant after Supratim Sarkar was recently appointed as the Police Commissioner of Kolkata.
Similarly, on another important post, senior IPS Lakshmi Narayan Meena has been appointed as the new ADG of the state CID. Meena was currently serving as ADG of Jail Service. In other appointments, IPS Mukesh has been removed from the post of IG of Murshidabad and Jangipur Range and has been appointed IG of State IB.

Similarly, IPS Syed Waqar Raza has been removed from the post of DIG of Nadia and Ranaghat Range and appointed as DIG of Murshidabad Range. Similarly, IPS Amarnath K has been removed from the post of Superintendent of Police (SP) of Krishnanagar Police District and has been made the new SP of Jalpaiguri District.
IPS Y Raghuvanshi has been removed from the post of SP of Jalpaiguri district and has been appointed SP of Krishnanagar police district. It has been said in the notification that in public interest, these appointments will come into effect with immediate effect.
