Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun: Police has arrested the accused of raping a girl from Mathura on the pretext of marriage. The accused is originally from Bihar. He was sent to jail after presenting him in court on Sunday. He has studied pharmacy from a private institute in Dehradun.
Police station head Premnagar Kundanram said that the girl resident of Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) had lodged a complaint. Told that Rohit (24 years), resident of Devan Bigha, police station Shahpur, district Nawada (Bihar), had raped her.
Last year, Rohit was studying pharmacy in a college located in Singhaniwala. The girl told that she became friends with Rohit through Snapchat. According to the complaint, she was continuously talking to Rohit.
Meanwhile, Rohit called her from Mathura to Saharanpur by train and brought her to Dehradun by bike. Here he was kept in a rented room in Jhajhra, Premnagar for three days.
During this time, Rohit had physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage. After this, Rohit called the girl again to Dehradun and kept her with him for a week and kept raping her.
The girl told that in September 2024, her family went to Rohit's house and talked about marriage, but Rohit's family refused to marry. After this the girl lodged a zero FIR in Nawada, Bihar. From there the case was transferred to Premnagar police station in Dehradun.
