Car driver ran away after crushing a student riding a bike in Bhopal (symbolic picture)
Digital Desk, Bhopal. A tragic hit-and-run accident came to light in the capital Bhopal on Wednesday, in which a Class 11 student died on the spot. The accused is none other than Nitin Mulani, owner of Bhojpal Builders, who hit the student's bike from behind with his speeding SUV and fled from the spot.
Police and passers-by chased the accused for about 2 kilometers and finally surrounded and caught him near the barricading at Retghat intersection.
The student had gone to take medicine, did not return home
The deceased student has been identified as Atif Hussain (18), resident of Ginauri, Talaiya. Atif was a class 11 student of Bhopal Model School and had gone to the medical store near Kilol Park to get medicine for his ailing father. After taking the medicine, he was moving towards the intersection on his bike when a speeding SUV coming from behind in front of the petrol pump crushed him.
The collision was so severe that the student died instantly due to serious head injury. Police found his helmet broken at the scene.

Builder arrested, SUV seized
Shyamala Hills police station has registered a case against the accused builder Nitin Mulani and arrested him. The SUV has also been confiscated by the police. Nitin Mulani lives with his family in Arera Colony E-2 and operates Bhojpal Builders with his father.

Police station in-charge Bhupendra Kaur Sandhu said that the student had suffered a serious head injury, which became the cause of his death. Police have taken action against the accused builder.
