Jagran correspondent, New Gurugram. The Gurugram office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached movable and immovable properties worth about Rs 80.03 crore of M/s Ramprastha Promoters and Developers Private Limited (RPDPL) and its associated entities in a major money laundering case.

This action was taken on December 17 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002. The attached properties include movable and immovable properties of Vatika Group, Unitech Group and other related entities. The investigation revealed that the amount collected from home buyers was diverted to other companies and transactions instead of being invested in projects.

ED had started this investigation on the basis of several FIRs filed by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW), Delhi and Haryana Police. The FIR alleges that RPDPL and its promoters cheated thousands of flat and plot buyers by not giving them possession within the stipulated time. In many cases more than 10 to 14 years have passed.

Investigation revealed that RPDPL had started projects like Project Edge, Skies, Rise and Ramprastha City (Plated Colony) in Sector-37D, 92, 93 and 95 of Gurugram between 2008 and 2011. In these projects, possession was promised in three-four years. The company collected around Rs 1100 crore from more than 2600 home buyers.

The ED investigation also revealed that instead of completing the projects, this amount was transferred to group and non-group companies in the name of loans, advances and land deals. In this case, ED had already arrested RPDPL director and majority shareholder Arvind Walia and Sandeep Yadav on July 21, 2025. Both are currently in judicial custody.

Earlier, in the search and seizure operations conducted by ED, properties worth about Rs 786 crore have been attached/seized. With the latest attachment of Rs 80.03 crore, the total value of attached properties in this case has now reached around Rs 866 crore. According to ED, further investigation in the case is going on.
