Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. The Commissionerate Police has seized property worth about Rs 1.97 crore in the case of interstate smuggling of cough syrup. This action has been taken under Section 68F of the NDPS Act 1985.
According to Ghaziabad Police, this property was purchased by Saurav Tyagi with illegal money earned from smuggling of cough syrup.
Cash and documents recovered
On November 3, the police and crime branch raided the fish warehouse on Meerut Road and arrested eight accused. 15.73 lakh vials of cough syrup in 1150 boxes were recovered from four trucks. Whose estimated cost was around Rs 3.40 crore. A car, Rs 20 lakh in cash and other documents were also recovered.

At the same time, investigation revealed that Saurav Tyagi earned much more wealth than the declared income. After examining the financial records, a total of seven properties purchased with illegal earnings have been seized. These include four vehicles and three commercial shops.

DCP City Dhawal Jaiswal said that strict action will continue against property acquired through smuggling of narcotics and banned medicines. The seized properties of Saurav Tyagi include three shops in Indirapuram, two Wagon R cars, a Hyundai Creta and a Hyundai Grand i-10 car. This property was purchased by Saurav Tyagi in his own name along with his father and wife.
