Jail wardens in Haryana will get the same allowance as police
Jagran correspondent, Karnal. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made the convocation parade organized at the Jail Training Academy, Karnal, memorable for the jail warders of the state. He made several announcements keeping in mind the interests of the jail warders.
The Chief Minister announced removal of anomalies in the promotion, service extension and allowances of jail warders and police constables. He said that now the jail warder will get promotion to the post of head warder after 18 years of service. Officers and employees who receive the Correctional Service Medal will get the benefit of one year extension in service. Jail Warder and Head Warder will also get the same allowance as Police Constable.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced increase in ration allowance to Rs 1500, transport allowance from Rs 50 to Rs 720 and uniform allowance to Rs 7.5 thousand. The Chief Minister made these announcements while being the chief guest at the convocation parade ceremony at the Jail Training Academy on Thursday. 116 employees dedicated to jail service participated in the convocation parade.
Petrol pumps will be opened in 4 more jails next month
When prisoners come out of jail, they can get respectable employment and join the mainstream of society. In this direction, ITI diploma course and polytechnic course have been started in five jails. An MoU has also been signed with the corporation to provide employment to the prisoners who have acquired these skills through Haryana Skill Employment Corporation after the completion of their sentence. The government has opened petrol pumps in eight jails of the state for the employment of prisoners.
Apart from this, petrol pumps will be opened in four more jails by next month. State Government Minister Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma congratulated the trainees and welcomed the Chief Minister. Director General of Prison Department, Alok Mittal said that the newly constructed prison academy in Karnal is an important step towards modernization and professional efficiency of the department.
Rahul Gandhi should apologize: CM
Talking to journalists at the Jail Academy, CM Nayab Singh Saini said on the remarks made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu that this issue is hidden in the DNA of Congress itself. Rahul Gandhi and the entire Congress should apologize. Though he has not apologized for the 1984 riots till date, much less will he apologize for this statement.
